About this Entry

A President with a Muslim upbringing is exactly what this country doesn't need. (the rest edited)
Obama has never been Muslim - he is Christian. This is a myth and a smear campaign:

(*the rest of the comment has been edited; if the first statement is not correct then we don't even need the rest of the garbage.)
these lies about Senator Obama are not acceptable. He is a Christian man!
This Latina will be voting for the candidate whom has integrity, exemplifies hope, change and does not accept money from PACs.
It is time for us to take our country back,
it can be done and please check out Senator Obama's website.

"A President with a Muslim upbringing is exactly what this country doesn't need."
He actually had more of a secular upbringing. His mom wasn't very religious, and his father was an atheist. If Eyes of Texas is correct, then any of us who have attended a religious school that wasn't our faith... has had an upbringing in that particular religion. He's making a big leap in logic as usual. He should be more concerned about the presidential candidates who have served their churches on missions or who sit on the pulpit and give sermons.
As I said before, Barack Obama is Christian.
Those lies about him being Muslim are not true and have been discredited time and time again.
Caroline Kennedy, Ted Kennedy and John Kerry now endorse Barack Obama in his plight to be the next President of the United States of America. Not because of his religon (but am sure that is factored into the equation) but because I believe they believe he is the right person for the job!
JFK was the first Catholic elected president.
I wouldn’t care if Obama were Muslim, Christian, Jewish, Black, Brown or Purple if he were the best candidate for the job. After 8 yrs of Bush, our county is desperately in need of a leader who can tackle the issues and get us back on the right track. That is why I am stunned at Obama’s growing support. (FYI - I am not a Hillary supporter although I would vote for her over a Republican).
Obama is an extremely eloquent and invigorating speaker, I was so inspired after first hearing him at the 2004 DNC - but think about it - after the speech is over he has NO PLAN. He talks about all he is going to do, but he provides no details of how is going to accomplish these things. Obama has absolutely no record of DOING anything. If you speak to Chicagoans he has NO track record of community activism and in his Senatorial tenure has not brought one dime in for Illinois, the (predominately Black) Maytag workers asked him for help – he did nothing to save their jobs. He is the wrong person to fix this nation. He is out of his league and has no business running. He had no plans to run until Oprah said he should. That Oprah endorsement plus all the media attention is what is driving his momentum. The media plays a huge part in elections. Many people haven’t a clue about issues and merely vote on popularity and what they hear on the TV, like so many other mindless sheep going along with what seems popular. Frankly, the media has made this a two-way race based purely on race and gender. Will it be the first woman or the first Black president? Instead of making a political statement we need to vote for who would do the best to repair the damage that the Bush regime has inflicted. I believe that is John Edwards. He has the experience, the integrity, the best plan – BTW – he didn’t vote for the border fence, Obama did - but unfortunately it's the wrong time to be a white man in the Democratic Party. We are too concerned about making history than making the right decision. However, I WILL NOT under any circumstances vote for Obama. I will vote Libertarian or Independent before I vote Obama.
If anyone has any factual info on Obama’s accomplishments – not how he has voted, but can offer anything he has actually done, please enlighten me. Perhaps I am missing something.
Educated Latina, here is a link listing what he has done (and I have heard more than once that he is more accomplished than Hillary): http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/01/03/AR2008010303303.html
Here's another: http://wizbangblue.com/2008/01/13/obamas-illinois-record-of-accomplishments-and-working-with-the-other-side.php
Despierten Latinos!!
Hillary nos esta usando!
Mujeres, despierten !
When was the last time ANY of the Clintons were in el barrio? We've been having issues here for years and I haven't seen any of them step foot here. Now, of course, they need our vote. Where was Hillary Clinton when we needed her to march with our Gente last year! Ted Kennedy marched in Washington, and YES, OBAMA was marching in Chicago con los Mexicanos! Don't ignore this!!
The Clintons are trying to tell you that Black and Latinos don't get along. Listen, if we as Mexicanos want to be loved by "White" America, you better learn to love others first**
Thank you Louis - I really appreciate the articles. I am still not convinced but I am open to learning more. I think alot of my frustration is due to the fact that I really believed Edwards was the best candidate for the job and I dont feel he got a fair chance. The media all but ignored him, but coverd every word and deed from Obama and Hillary. I cant stew about this forever so I need to get over it.
For now though, I am leaning towards Hillary, only because I loved Bill and I know what I'm getting with a Clinton. Sometimes that's better than an unknown. I'm just not ready to gamble with my Vote.
Gamble? I dunno, seeing Hillary voting one way, then another seems like a gamble to me, but that's just me.
