Quote Of The Day
While I should of been writing (or reading), I watched the Colbert Report last night (do they have scabs now as writers?). He interviewed someone, who wrote something and it was quite revealing and quite the plain truth. Although these are not direct quotes, you'll get the gist of it...
Ain't that the truth.Republicans are out of touch with issues concerning the everyday American: the middle class is still stuck in the middle, and the poor are still poor - nothing has changed in 6 years.
The Democrats are better at identifying and voicing what is wrong, but do not have realistic or effective plans to solve them.

About this Entry

The Democraps solution to our nations problems is called Socialism. That includes what they call "distribution of wealth". That means tax the hell out of the working middle class to support the poor, the needy, the have nothings and the lazy asses that continue to suck up all available government sponsored benefits instead of getting a job. What I earn is mine, what I have is mine and I can't understand why anyone would want to live under a socialistic government.
I am glad that you said that - "socialism." We had a discussion at work about Socialism, and how it wouldn't work. There are too many people out there who "want" for themselves...who are not contempt for working toward a greater good. Socialism will never work in this world, because someone is always trying to be better than someone else, or someone is always trying to get away with less work. Socialism would be great if there was no ego in this world.
"Socialism would be great". You have to be kidding to believe that living under complete control of the government would be acceptable. The middle-class would vanish and like Mexico, there would be two classes, the rich and powerful making all the decisions and the poor worker class with no way to succeed in life. Ego plays no part in wanting to provide for yourself and your family by getting an education and working hard in your chosen field to earn a decent salary. If the guy down the street wants to drop out of school in the 9th grade and work at a minimum wage job all his life, why should it be my responsibility to sudsidize his short comings just because I chose to take a higher road in life. No one is responsible you except yourself.
Yes, ALL classes would vanish - no rich, no poor...all equal. Everyone will be provided with everything they need, but limit what they WANT (read: greed, excess). No one will be "Higher," than anyone else. Wouldn't that be great? Sort of like Star Trek.
If you believe for one second that those in high places would come down off their thrones and lower their standard of living, then maybe you don't see Socialism as the monster it really is. Not everyone would be equal. There would be a ruling class and a working class provided for by the ruling class. Sure, all the working class would be equal with no hope of ever seeing more than what the ruling class cares to provide. As for Star Trek, didn't you ever see the all mighty great ones that spoke on the view screens? Those folks were upper escalon that had power over all others, including all the working stiffs aboard the Enterprise.
