Why I Hate 1 Out Of 10 Latinos
Yes, hate is a strong word. Yes, I am a male myself. But, you hombres need to take care of your own:
"In the past ten years the birth rate among unmarried Latinas has risen from 89 to 100 per 1,000."

About this Entry

Whoa! I didn't know it was that high. I have to admit...I am one of of those unwed Latina moms. The good thing is that I now know (nine years later) that I am much better off than had I stayed in my unhealthy relationship. Being a single mom is exhausting and lonely at times but it is better than the alternative that I faced of being in a relationship with a drug addict.
Thank goodness for my health, job and family which all help me to raise my lovely girl.
Bravo!
Hate is a strong word, but we need our men to step up and help raise these families that they create. More family planning and education.
I blogged about this too. Glad to see you picked up on it.
A) It doesn't say these women were all knocked up by Latinos. Latinas do date others.
B) Do you want us to assimilate or do you not want us to assimilate. If we assimilate we are going to have single parent families. If we don't assimilate we are considered backward and out of synch with society. What do people want from us?
C) This is a global phenomenon. Single people outnumbered married couples two years ago in the US. The rates are higher in the EU and other countries where economic factors have forced families to migrate for jobs. Most times just father will leave in search of work. In other cases women.
D) don't hate the players, eh you know the rest...
A)True...I am sure there are Latino men in this mix; no getting around that.
B)I don't think they want us to assimilate into a sub-American-culture.
C)Let's not justify us men, who fall short and not take care of our children.
D)I hate both.
