Jealous Jesse
"Jesse Jackson's point is wrapped up in jealousy over the fact that Obama has done what Jesse could never do-- win the Democratic nomination for president. And because Obama has repeatedly rejected the victimization card that Jackson was so fond of playing for many years."
I agree.

About this Entry

He used to be someone.
Now he's just a sad old man.
I wonder what he says about Cosby?
I don't think JJ is jealous. He probably thinks Obama has sold out because he's not talking about the "same ol' issues" in the "same ol' way." That's both a function of JJ's inability - then and now - to transcend beyond the his core African-American constituency to any significant degree.
Jesse's attitude was one of antagonizing the system while Obama's is one more along the lines of modifying a system that has been successful for some so that it is useful to all (or most).
