What's Important?

As a day job, I work with back-end computer support, and every once in a while a systems check is performed to make sure everything is running optimal.  Likewise, I think individuals should engage in a 'self-check' every so often.  More so, those that are involved in social affairs should do this especially as to not become immersed in their own manure.

Read below:

Latino registered voters rank education, the cost of living, jobs and health care as the most important issues in the fall campaign, with crime lagging a bit behind those four and the war in Iraq and immigration still farther behind. On each of these seven issues, Obama is strongly favored over McCain--by lopsided ratios ranging from about three-to-one on education, jobs, health care, the cost of living and immigration, to about two-to-one on Iraq and crime.

I don't know if they are ranked in order (too lazy to look at report), but I would put those as my top four.  So in a nutshell, even though I've been MIA, I feel I'm still in touch with the Latino heart.  After all, the Latino heart is a human heart, and these issues are what all Americans are concerned about.  I'd be curious to what issues some readers and writers of Latino Blogs are deemed most important.

McDonalds:  The King of Fast Food Opportunists.  An effort to catch the young Latino market, and some fetish about eating fries in the air.
With the year 2007 coming to a moaning halt, wax me nostalgic: From WaPo's Lies "Fibs of 2007":

  • "If we reported it, it's a fact."
  • --Lou Dobbs of CNN, interviewed by CBS's 60 Minutes, May 6, standing by a false claim that there had been 7,000 new cases of leprosy in the United States between 2002 and 2004, as a result of illegal immigration. His source: "medical expert" Madeleine Cosman.

I was curious about this, and looked the source up and found this video on YouTube:

No, no...no further action is needed. She is dead, as some have already found out while attempting to take action against her claims.  I am not sure if CNN ever retracted these false claims, but it looks like they never did.

For giggles, look at Lou Dobbs getting his ass handed to him in an interview, which also mentions the topic in this post.
Yup.  Not only that, the Hispanic Paradox is that they get sick less often --totally surprising the establishment.  (Look up the links for that yourself - I am pressed for time today.)
The proposed NO-Match, system is officially in the can.  Unfortunately, this proves that our social security records are not accurate.
"Bargaining with pharmaceutical firms to bring down the price of Aids drugs and producing cheap generic versions...Infection rates in the Latin American country have been kept at a similar level to the US...."

That is contrary to popular opinion.
Insurance business is a predatory market.  Period.  They have so many loopholes for when you are covered that you may well not be covered.  Markos recently is finding this out.

Is this coordinated:  FDA votes to ban cold medicine to children under 6?  They claim that reasons being are that they are afraid that parents are not giving the corect dosage or is not being used as directed.

I am very suspicious of this, not to mention infuriated.  This desicion has come on the heels of Bush vetoing healthcare for children, as on the eve of the country's debate concerning health care.  What are parents to do who are already strapped for time and cash - run to the doctor for every sniffle...go to vodoo witchdotors?  Our children are in danger.
