Russia
That's right, you read correctly-Russia. There just sometimes is news that falls outside the immediate Latino realm. Hey, since Latino's are world citizens, now news must be covered in all (mainstream-I will explain my use of this term on a later post), areas. This story may affect us in the long run anyway. So, without further ado:
Mr. Putin's statement this morning that he would not terminate Russia's $800 million commercial nuclear contract with Iran...
That is a lot of money for Russia, can you blame 'em?
President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia said today that he would send "a clear but respectful signal to Iran" that it must comply with international inspections of its suspected nuclear weapons program. But he told President Bush that Russia would go forward with its plans to help Iran build a nuclear reactor.
You see, Iran is under obligation under the UN premise that it must comply. Iran's claim for the reactor is that they want to usher in the modern age and supply modern power for its country. Fear is that once they get this nuclear reactor built they will pull out of the UN, thus no longer being obliged under the UN, and use this reactor for deviant purposes. And we should know this best because, after all we pulled out of the 1972 Antiballistic Missile Treaty.
A story to watch. Full story
Take my survey.
