Latino Blogger Afterthoughts To Univision Debate
Even though Latino Bloggers were not a live presence for the Univision debate, that has not stopped them from issuing a response on their blogs. Here is some of what they had to say:
ManEegee: It was refreshing not having to listen to the gasbags in the Liars Spin Room afterwards.
American Taíno: Finally, candidates for president of the United States were asked to respond to questions of major concern to Latinos.
Latina Lista: Tonight's Univision debate was refreshing on so many levels that when it was finally over it proved to be an event that was not just historic but one all Latinos could be proud of.
Matt Ortega: Univisión’s Democratic presidential debate was a historic event in American politics. The debate itself, however, was not much different than debates aired on CNN or MSNBC — just in Spanish.
Vivir Latino: The drum beat of buzz around this event began several weeks ago, and anticipation has been building up in Latino media about the "historic event". Historic it may have been, but groundbreaking it was not.
OfAmérica More than just symbolic pandering aimed at a single-issue voter block long-ignored in Presidential politics, the Univision debate marks a coming-of-age of the very-politically engaged (think millions marching in the largest simultaneous marches in US history) Latino community.

Culture Kitchen: Notwithstanding the awe inspiring set and the hard hitting tonality of the questioning, I don't think that Univision did anything groundbreaking.
Take my survey.
