Senate Condemns MoveOn Ad
Read this Latinos.
The Senate just voted to condemn the MoveOn ad: General Betray Us.

MoveOn.org is not condemning the military. No one is blaming the military for the war. But when General Petreaus spoke to us in our living rooms, what the they were doing was put a faceless military to appeal to us instead of coming to the podium themselves. And now we are made to look like the bad guys by the Senate (and the dopey Dems that followed suit), as well as the news, the pundits and anyone else that wants to say that the anti-war movement are a bunch of anarchists.
Bah.
THE POPULAR PUBLIC OPINION IS AGAINST THE WAR! And Bush is at his LOWEST public approval rating of all time (not to mention Conrgess as well). And condemning a newspaper ad is not going to change that.
Basically the Senate is saying:
I am glad for the organization MoveOn.org. They have balls. In these times you need them. And by the way, MoveOn.org will not shut up:
The U.S. Senate just told you to sit down and be quiet when they passed a Republican amendment condemning MoveOn.
Every day, our brave men and women are dying in a bloody civil war this Senate has done nothing to stop. Yesterday, they couldn't even pass a bill to give soldiers adequate leave with their families before redeploying. But they're spending time cracking down on a newspaper ad?
So, we're making clear where America stands. We're releasing a statement from MoveOn members--and anyone else who feels the same way--saying, "We will not be quiet, we will fight back. We will keep speaking out until Congress forces an exit plan for this awful war."
Yes, this is a Latino Blog. Yes, you may even be Latino - imagine that! You may come here to read about immigration, Hispanic population increase, how to make more money off the Hispanics market, miscellaneous Latino news, new trends affecting Latinos, education, a new news, blog post or commentary lead (because you can't think of an original damn story yourself), Latino politics, a new Latino recipe, or what SPF level I am using.
Well, that's all fine. But sometimes we have to look outside our local communities and issues, and see and give voice to what is happening nationally (not saying we don't, I am just saying). If you want to give voice and tell your 'Dem' senator an earful, then let 'er rip!
