Read all about the Associated Press and their recent very un-associated relation w/ bloggers. And I quote:
Very interesting.
Last week, The AP took an unusually strict position against quotation of its work, sending a letter to the Drudge Retort asking it to remove seven items that contained quotations from AP articles ranging from 39 to 79 words.
On Saturday, The AP retreated. Jim Kennedy, vice president and strategy director of The AP, said in an interview that the news organization had decided that its letter to the Drudge Retort was "heavy-handed" and that The AP was going to rethink its policies toward bloggers.
The quick about-face came, he said, because a number of well-known bloggers started criticizing its policy, claiming it would undercut the active discussion of the news that rages on sites, big and small, across the Internet. ...
"We are not trying to sue bloggers," Mr. Kennedy said. "That would be the rough equivalent of suing grandma and the kids for stealing music."
Did I post this? I think I implied it to myself while posting about FAIR's new radio tour against illegal immigration, but a side note to myself does nothing for the general public at large. Now that it is spelled out in black and white for you dear reader, please do read on...
UPDATE: You know, I knew I did...report post about FAIR that is. But, that post leaves me unsatisfied, because the statement which begs to be said is how ironic that an organization, like FAIR can pass itself as a concerned entity for American immigration and yet, have ties to racist hate groups, spread fear and hate through it's activities, and spread false information.
"It is evident to most Americans that large-scale immigration is not serving the needs and interests of the country." This statement, just probably like many of FAIR's is just not true. Many industries and the very livelihoods that most Americans enjoy survive off the back of Immigrants - illegal or not. It's a shame, that with money and the right contacts truth can be usupred by hate and false tenets.

Luis Alberto Urrea, rants (rages?) about something....I don't know. But, then again, he's a novelist so I guess it's pretty normal.
